Port Phillip Community Group Volunteer Program
Volunteers play
an integral role in the life and operations of the Port Phillip
Community Group.
There are a
number of different types of volunteer positions available. These
positions include:
-
Assisting the
Information and Support (I&S) workers at the front desk at the
Chapel Street office;
-
Assisting with
running a range of educative and/or recreational activities and
courses at the Alma Road Neighbourhood House;
-
Ongoing and
project-based administrative tasks, eg: updating databases &
mailing lists;
-
Research and
community development projects from time to time.
The different
volunteer roles require various and often quite specific skills.
However, what is primarily required is a commitment to assisting
the residents of the City of Port Phillip.
Most of the
volunteer positions involve a time commitment of half a day per
week. We prefer volunteers to make at least a 6-12 month commitment
to volunteering with the Community Group.
Full training and
is provided, with some positions having additional external
training available and encouraged.
