The City of Port Phillip provides a range of community care
services to help older residents and people with disabilities
maintain their independence and quality of life. Eligibility for
community care services is restricted to frail older people, people
with disabilities and their carers. Services are provided in
circumstances where a person is unable to undertake tasks such as
shopping assistance, cleaning, meal preparation,personal care,
delivered meals and home maintenance themselves due to illness,
frailty or disability. Rooming house residents can avail themselves
to this service.

Bus
The City
of Port Phillip Community Bus is a free service that operates
Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays, around the
municipality. Two buses operate on a continuous loop and bus stops
are clearly signposted at key location. A new time table is being
produced and will soon be available at Assist Centres, libraries
and on the City of Port Phillip Web Site. Some key stop are St
Kilda Library, Rippponlea Railway Station, Luna Park, Sacred Heart
Mission, Aldi St Kilda, Alfred Hospital, Coles South Melbourne,
South Melbourne Market, Park Towers South Melbourne, Port Melbourne
Library and a lot more.

Port Phillip Older Persons’ Housing Program
The City of Port Phillip Older Persons’ Program houses people who
are 55 years of age or older for lift access estates, 50 years of
age for walk up flats and 45 years of age if you are an Indigenous
Australian. A local residential qualification of three years
applies. Applicants need to meet the Office of Housing income and
assets eligibility.
