The Emergency Relief (ER) service provides support and financial assistance for people experiencing unexpected financial hardship.
ER is available at the St Kilda, South Melbourne and Port Melbourne offices. The assistance provided varies at each location due to opening hours, staffing, facilities, funding and the needs of each client.
Financial Assistance is provided in the form of:
- Food vouchers
- Myki passes
- Telephone vouchers
- Pharmacy vouchers
- Food Pantry Items
An appointment is required for assessment of food vouchers.

A Centrelink Healthcare card must be provided as confirmation of your identification and address.
Financial assistance is provided once in any six month period and maximum amounts per person apply. An Intake Worker will assess your request for assistance, which will be dependent on the circumstances of your household.
