share the Food
The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has seen a significant increase in the number of individuals and families contacting PPCG for support. As people struggle to navigate unemployment, housing insecurity and isolation from support networks, PPCG has adapted the way we deliver much needed relief to those who need it.
With support from the City of Port Phillip, PPCG launched the Share the Food program, providing food staples, toiletries and hygiene products to people facing financial hardship, and those isolating due to compromised immunity, age or disability.
Since the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, some people have been able to return to work, or to access food in ways which they did previously. However, for many in our community, the financial effects of the pandemic remain, and food insecurity continues to be a challenge.
If you are a resident of the City of Port Phillip and you are experiencing food crisis, please phone us to speak to a support worker about how we can assist.
